Emma Flattery graduated magna cum laude from SIO's Marine Biology program at UCSD with a minor in Global South Studies in 2023. Her thesis project focuses on coral reef recovery and disturbance ecology after wave events in the Pacific. She works with benthic photomosaic imagery, algae stable isotopes, and wave satellite data to explore her academic interests. Her future goals include reef management, international collaboration, and decolonization in conservation.
